Elm Cottage, Cropthorne, Nr. Evesham, Worcestershire WR10 3ND (see map)

The village of Cropthorne is situated between Evesham and Pershore in the county of Worcestershire.  Shopping facilities are available in both Evesham and Pershore and the mainline to London (Paddington) runs through both towns.

To reach Cropthorne from the M5 Leave M5 at Junction 9 and follow signs for Evesham through to Ashchurch.  Take A46 at the Teddington roundabout and continue to Evesham.

On entering Evesham, turn left at the second set of traffic lights (onto the B4084).  Continue for approximately 4 miles.  Then turn right at sign post for Cropthorne.  After a sharp right hand bend, turn left at the sign post for ‘Holland House Car Park’.  Elm Cottage is the second property on the right.

To reach Cropthorne from London Take the M40 out of London and exit at Junction 8.  Follow the A40, by-passing Oxford and then take the A44 to Moreton in Marsh.  On entering Moreton in Marsh, turn right at the T- Junction, heading towards Bourton on the Hill.  Go through Bourton on the Hill and by-pass Broadway to Evesham (still on the A44).

On entering Evesham, turn left onto the by-pass and follow this to the far end and turn right for the town centre.  At the second set of traffic lights, turn left onto the B4084.  Continue for approximately 4 miles.  Then turn right at sign post for Cropthorne.  After a sharp right hand bend, turn left at the sign post for ‘Holland House Car Park’.  Elm Cottage is the second property on the right.

Things to do...

There is a fantastic farm shop nearby, Hillers, who sell organic locally produced produce.  Groceries can be ordered in advance to be there when you arrive.

Our two favourite restaurants are Belle House, in Pershore (01386 555055.) and Russells in Broadway (01386 853555).  Both are worth a visit, but booking is advisable.

If you like horse riding we recommend Jill Carenza Equestrian centre (01386 584250).  The stables in Stanton have great horses and they give very good lessons as well. Group hack is £20.00 each per hour and a semi private hack (i.e. 2 riders & the guide) is £30.00 each per hour.  The scenery around there is stunning.

There's a great pub in Stanton called 'The Mount'. Our favourite pub is the Fleece in Bretforton; they do proper pub grub there! You can also visit Broadway; the Crown & Trumpet is great and serves a late lunch.

If you fancy a country walk there are walking maps, wellies & anoraks.  There's a very nice walk that goes from Cropthorne to Ashton Under Hill.

Cheltenham is not to far away either if you want to go shopping.  Broadway has some nice shops as well.
