We bid you a temporary adieu

UNION MEMBERS NEAR AND FAR
Over the past few days the Union team have been keeping our ear to the ground and our eyes on the government’s recommendations regarding COVID-19.

In light of the most recent announcement by the prime minister we have reluctantly come to the heart-breaking decision to shut the black door of no. 50 Greek Street for the next little while for the safety of our staff, members and guests.

We are prepared to stay open for the remainder of the week to accommodate bookings already made, and to accommodate those of you still willing to get out of the house who fancy a ‘farewell-for-now’ visit before we hunker down.

We would ask that if you do want to come in between now and Friday 20th that you email us today (Tuesday 17th) so that we can make a call on what’s appropriate.

Our plans are to re-open as soon as but as this is a beast that seems to shapeshift day-by-day we will have to continue to listen to government advice and adjust our plans as the situation develops.

We all hope that these restrictions will be over very shortly. We have been open for 27 years and a bad case of the flu won’t see us off.

Not much else to say, except that we’re thinking of you and we want to see you back in the Club for Welsh rarebit, and rosé on the terrace. Here is to happier times ahead.

We’ll see you soon!
