About the event
At The Flood
“There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat;
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.”
William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar
We are excited to announce a new exhibition by Flora Parrott, Sarah Longworth-West, Jo Chate and Tamsin Morse. These four artists’ paintings, collages, and works on paper, showcase how years of experimentation, successes and failures in the studio can lead to a mature and unique mastery of process, style, and technique. The exhibition is titled 'At The Flood' from William Shakespeares' analogy of emerging from years of struggle, uncertainty, and experimentation with a stronger, more confident voice.
Curated by Gilly Fox (Associate Curator, Hayward Gallery Touring) in partnership with TondoCosmic (an art-collective, supporting artists with an accomplished track record who are not represented by a commercial gallery).
Please join us for at Private View on Monday 28 September, 6.00 - 8.30pm
