The Union is a Soho institution & West End retreat; understated, stylish and really rather special.
This Georgian townhouse was built in 1736 by William Frith, a local carpenter, who erected six houses, all to the same pattern.

Today, 50 Greek Street is the last remaining of the original six houses and is a listed historical building of considerable merit.

A beautiful listed town house in the heart of London. A family of like minded people.
A private members club of unique character and charm with a magical ambience that can be found nowhere else.
The Union has a small (but most loyal) membership base. We chose to grow very slowly, and by this means continue to evolve into an excellent establishment that is fully able to serve all of our members’ needs. With careful care and attention, we can do this while continuing to maintain a low profile and peaceful ambience as befits a private members club.

Our history
The Union Club was set up in 1993 by ex-North Sea oil rigger Pete Cross and Chef Carolyn Dawson, and Pete is (for his sins) still at the helm of the Club today.
Over the years, the club has gained a large and ever-growing collection of art, furniture, fittings and furnishings.

Although the club may change and evolve with time, we pride ourselves on our longstanding staff and members – many of whom joined us in 1993 and haven’t left! They are just as big a part of the Union as the very fabric of the building.
