About the event
Salon founder Toby Brothers, who has shared the Odyssey with readers aged from 9 to 90, will be joined by fellow enthusiasts Jane Wymark and Alexis Cambanis to bring key passages from The Odyssey to life, following the hero's 10-year journey home to Ithaca, his encounters with the Cyclops, the Sirens and Circe, and his reunion with his wife and son.
The performance will combine readings, including passages in both English and Greek, illuminated with context and discussion. It will be followed by an audience Q&A exploring why this extraordinary story, written nearly 3,000 years ago, remains so relevant today.
