The Union club presents… Up close and personal with Murray Lachlan Young

A unique opportunity to spend an intimate, mirth filled evening with Union poet-in-residence MLY .

Deeply humorous  satirical verse, stories and songs  with a surreal, sometimes abstract take on the follies, foibles that shape the modern, Western, media-driven, human experience.

Influenced by rock-n-roll lyrics at one end, moving through Noel Coward, Gilbert and Sullivan into Richard Bach at the far end – delivered, with great warmth in brilliant and dynamic form.

This performance will include: an abridged version Murray’s acclaimed BBC, virus diaries collection, semi-erotic shanty singing, a few old favourites for those that know.

MLY has worked as resident poet, BBC Radio4 Saturday live, BBCR2 Culture show, BBC6 Music, CERN, Shakespeare’s Globe – to name but a few.

Come along and be moved, tickled and taken on a surreal journey into the known and the unknown.
